Typical Rockets move: Buy low, hope to find gold and control the future upside
The Rockets have signed Reggie Williams to a two-year league minimum deal, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein.
As has become the norm with the Rockets and lower value contracts, the second year is not guaranteed.
Williams, a 6-foot-6 guard with some bulk, played well his first two seasons in the league with the Warriors, but has struggled the last two with Charlotte. He’s a career 37.1% three-point shooter.
As a rookie, Williams averaged over 15 points for the Warriors, but his best season was likely the following year (2010-11) when he hit 102-241 three-pointers (42.3% from distance). And it should be no surprise that the Rockets are adding another left-handed shooter.
