Jalen Green’s rookie season was a fascinating watch for Rockets fans, and now we get to see the curtain lifted a bit as the Rockets organization released a film on the #2 pick’s first season in the NBA.
The film, which serves as part behind-the-scenes and part hype video, takes you through the Draft, his early obstacles and the Rising Stars challenge, but it really cranks up the volume when it gets to the final leg of the season as the Rockets rookie started to come into his own.
“From the beginning of the season until now, (the game) slowed down a lot more,” said Green. “You just see reads faster.”
In one scene, Jalen talked about the home game against the Lakers on March 9th when he scored 32 points, hitting 13-21 from the field, to bury LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and the Lakers.
“My team was feeding me the ball so they trusted me in a crunch time situation like that,” said Green. “It was crazy. The crowd was being loud and when it gets like that, the adrenaline be going up.”
The Rockets have been doing an incredible job with video and film work lately and this is just the latest example as they highlight why Houston fans believe they have a special player in Jalen Green.
“It’s a product of the work that he puts in,” said Rockets coach Stephen Silas of Jalen. “A lot of people want to be great, but I think he can be great.”
