The Rockets have invited Samford standout Reed Rawlings to the team's camp next week for draftees and selected free agents/vets. Rawlings was not drafted on Wednesday but got the call quickly from Houston. "(The Rockets) were the first team I worked out for, and I got to know them real well," Rawlings said. "It's the team I've related to the most with. It's a great deal." Rawlings impressed scouts at the NBA's first tryout camp in Portsmouth last April, averaging 17 points and earning All-Tournament team honors. Writes CNNSI, "Rawlings is a good leaper, is strong and can score from inside or out. He has the body to withstand the pounding in the NBA and is more athletic than people know." Rawlings averaged 14.6 points, 4.6 boards and about 2 steals per contest last season while hittng over 49% from the field and 38.5% from long range.
