The trade was a bit of a shock, if for no other reason than it was Christmas Eve, but Steve Francis has been traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
1560 the Game exclusively caught Steve Francis and Yao Ming at Francis' charity event today for the Steve Francis Foundation, and also talked with Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey at the Toyota Center.
Francis was very professional. The vibe I get from Morey is the Rockets were probably pushed into making the deal sooner rather than later, given recent comments by Dikembe Mutombo where he said he'd be a Spur or Celtic by the end of the year.
